“DELMAS” is a French word meaning small town. Delmas was established in 1907 by Frank Dumat as a farm community service centre. Delmas is a small farming town that produces: chickens, maize, potatoes and wheat.

Delmas is a strategically situated on the borderline of Mpumalanga and Gauteng Provinces hence referred to as the “Western Gateway to Mpumalanga Province”
